To help you toast to the end of a great year, here is a list of all the bar openings in December, each vastly different from the other. Ahead, the new bars to check out this month, ranging from the historic to a distillery-slash-bar that makes its own local gin.

Welcome to The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, a restored masterpiece that was once The Stamford House and The Capitol. The ultra-luxe property holds an exclusive secret within its walls: The Bar.

Pop in into the old world style bar for post theatre drinks, nightcaps or pre-dinner drinks. On the menu is a range of libations featuring a good mix of classic cocktails as well as bespoke creations for the connoisseur.

Raffles Hotel’s illustrious Long Bar has opened its doors once more. The birthplace of the Singapore Sling returns with a refreshed decor of plantation motifs and 1920s Malayan-style furnishings. At its centre is its well-preserved iconic counter.

Dressed in deep, rich colours with greenery all around, the two-storey space transports you to an old-world plantation. You’re even encouraged to dust peanut shells off the table and bar counter onto the floor.

This bar’s tagline goes: “A whisky bar for whisky lovers by whisky lovers”. The team here believes it’s what in the bottle that counts, and not the label, the awards, rarity, price or “gold medals” that matter. Non-whiskey enthusiasts can take the load off with other spirits and hearty bar bites.
