We get massaged with caviar and rub coconut oil all over our skin. So, at this point, there’s nothing strange about treating our hair with Champagne.
The story goes that Cuvée Beauty founder Rachel Katzman discovered the hair-changing magic of Champagne during her 21st birthday party, an ostensibly raucous affair in Las Vegas that left her hair soaked and treated in bubbly.
Amazed by the silky texture, tousled look and glossy sheen that a good dousing from 21 (!) bottles of Champagne produced, her rather novel idea was born.
The brand’s signature product, Cuvée Complex, doesn’t just feature Champagne extract, though. It’s full of luxury ingredients, a few of which are most often found in fine dining establishments, such as white truffle (to add moisture) and figs (to give the elixir its light, intoxicating aroma).
Other plant-derived ingredients protect against the elements while platinum extract detoxifies the hair and scalp.
Altogether there are three styling products, including Champagne spray and styling balm, as well as three in-shower products that would seem to go best with a bottle of bubbly and a bathtub.
With only a subtle tropical fragrance and gender-neutral design, all Cuvée Beauty products are unisex, so men won’t miss out on the benefits of bubbly, either.
The world is full of unusual ways to look good, and while some trends are more extravagant than others, rarely has everyday hair care seemed so luxurious.
