Watch enthusiasts will be thrilled to see what’s in store at the most anticipated event of the year. Independent Luxury Watchmaking Exhibition is coming to Thailand to showcase one-of-a-kind timepieces for a rare sight. We will see eighteen international luxury watchmakers from all regions unveiling their exclusive masterpieces and timepiece collection. It will be an eye-opening event that will reveal a different era of the watchmaking industry for Thai collectors. With a vibrant growth market for luxury watches in Thailand, we are not surprised that it has finally arrived here in Thailand.
The opening of Bangkok Independent Watchmaking Exhibition will kick off with their main exhibition at Gaysorn Village from 4-8 September 2019. Luxury houses will reveal eight exclusive custom designs on the auspicious occasion of “Kamlangjai Project” to start the fundraising auction. An initiative by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Watchara Ratchathida, “Kamlangjai” which also means to “Inspire”, offers assistance to those in need of opportunities such as occupational training for female and pregnant inmates as well as fostering reintegration into society. Visitors will be able to glance over the beautiful creations and personally interact with the watchmakers over the limited extraordinary pieces available for auction.
Chairty Auction Timepieces
What makes these eight handcrafted timepieces so extraordinary? Specifically designed by international watch and clock craftsmen in the brand’s unique style, these masterpieces celebrate the emblems of the golden kingdom and a royal symbol of the elephant. The time-honoured houses behind these gorgeous timepieces include Ludovic Ballouard, Matthias Naeschke, Kudoke, Perrelet, Christophe Claret, Ateliers DeMonaco, Kerbedanz, and Azimuth.
While most of the watchmaking houses and brands don’t have a local house in Thailand, we will see clockmaker Sebastian, Ludovic Ballouard, and Xavier De Roquemaurel (Czapek) visit Bangkok for the first time. That’s not it, we will have chief executives of the houses of Alchemists, Azimuth, Christophe Claret, Cyrus, Ateliers DeMonaco, Kerbedanz, Kudoke, Manufacture Royale, Speake-Marin, Paul Design, Perrelet, Romain Gauthier, Schwarz-Etienne and Strom as well. Moreover, they will be hosting some of the exclusive hospitality events.
Singapore Luxury Timepiece partner Jimmie Tay reveals his main objective behind Bangkok’s debut for the upcoming watch exhibition. “It is not just an exhibition of premier ultra-luxury timepieces. Much that we love to appreciate and admire the tremendous creativity and skill of these watch craftsmen. We want this exhibition to also have a real purpose – that is to give back to the community, to this group of beneficiaries who have very challenging circumstances and this is a way to help them get back on their feet to support their families,” said Jimmie Tay.
In partnership with Christie’s Thailand, who also introduced us to the auction world, the Charity Auction will be held on 6th September 2019 Gaysorn Urban Resort, The Crystal Box, 19 Fl. The starting reserve prices for these treasured premiere timepieces will range from USD 5,000 to USD 90,000.
This exhibition has been organised with the support of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Art of Time, and a joint collaboration by Singapore luxury timepiece partner Jimmie Tay, Caureen Too and Thai partner Khun Kannikar Thientawai. Alongside we will see other luxury lifestyle partners holding events such as seminars in finance, property, automobile, and showcase yacht.
