Koenigsegg unveils its first authorised dealership in Bangkok, celebrating the milestone with an exclusive preview of two iconic Swedish hyper-cars — a first for the Asian Pacific region.
Reputed as the world’s leading engineer and manufacturer of sophisticated hypercars, Koenigsegg has finally landed in Bangkok. The Swedish-based brand hosted a grand opening party, in collaboration with General Auto Supply Co., Ltd — an affiliate of Sharich Holding. Dubbed ‘Koenigsegg Bangkok: The Ultimate Performance’, the party was led by Chief Executive Officer Apichat Leenutaphong and Director Sak Nana, to officially launch the revered Koenigsegg brand in Thailand.
The event also marked double celebrations for General Auto Supply Co., Ltd, as it was officially appointed the new authorised importer and dealer of Koenigsegg hypercars in Thailand.
Koenigsegg: What’s the Hype?
Founded by Christian von Koenigsegg in 1994, Koenigsegg Automotive AB was born from an unwavering determination to create the perfect car — one without limits. Every element of the production process, from the makings of the carbon fiber frame, to the interiors of each Koenigsegg, has been meticulously handcrafted. The resulting models are much like unique works of art, with a seamless unison of parts to achieve the ultimate performance and highest brand standards.
The Event: Meeting the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, and the Koenigsegg Gemera
Guests at the grand opening party were offered an immersive experience, to witness firsthand two hypercar models. The first model — the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut — is recognised as ‘The Fastest Koenigsegg Ever — Forever’. With extreme streamlining and extreme power, the design draws inspiration from the sky itself, offering virtually zero time between gear changes, and a twin-turbocharged V8 engine fitted with a 180-degree crankshaft for a 8500-rpm rev limit.
The Koenigsegg Gemera, on the other hand, marks the latest generation of hypercars, and is also the first Mega-GT (Mega-Gran Turismo) in the world. Designed to truly meet all lifestyles, the car comes with everyday usability and creature comforts, comfortably seating four large adults. With cold and warm cup holders, infotainment displays on both the front and rear seats, Wi-Fi, memory foam heated seats, Autoskin plus and more, this marks the perfect ride for family trips on long-range public roads.
