Cartier and the Panther have long shared intertwined destinies. In the Maison’s latest exhibition — ‘Into The Wild’ — Cartier celebrates this iconic relationship, as well as the history and spirit of the panther.
With a century-old reputation for some of today’s most iconic jewellery and watches, most of those who recognise and love Cartier, will recognise the brand by its near-inseprable symbol — the sleek, majestic panther. Compelling, indomitable, and unique in its bold personality, there is something sensual about the Cartier panther that has seen the Maison incorporate the figure into exquisite jewellery pieces, beautiful timepieces, accessories, fragrances, and more, under the highly-coveted ‘Panthère de Cartier’ collection.
From a certain standpoint, the influence of the Cartier Panther is actually quite remarkable — in over a century, no other jewelled creature has managed to reach such an iconic repute, both within the Cartier brand, and arguably most of the era’s jewellery scene. Heavily linked to the most strong and stylish of women, the symbol has become a legendary ideal of bold, unabashed feminism. Understanding this, Cartier pays ode to its revered emblem with a special exhibition, ‘Into The Wild’, which has reached Thailand for the very first time.
Into The Wild — What’s the Hype?
Inviting guests to discover the Panther universe, through tales — many of which have remained untold — spanning over a hundred years of Cartier and the Panther. The exhibition comes in three zones. The first, ‘Jeanne Toussaint, La ‘Panthère’, celebrates the first female creative director of Cartier, while the second, ‘Panthère de Cartier Collection’ takes audiences through the various interpretations of the Panther in Cartier’s designs. The final zone, ‘Saovir-Faire of ‘Panthère de Cartier’, offers a fascinating dialogue between creativity and technique, as visitors are offered insight on how the Panther is brought to life through a collaborative effort between designers, watchmakers, jewellery makers, gem-setters and more.
