Another week of lockdown has brought with it a further trove of images shared by fashion-sphere icons, who have embraced a host of laidback looks as they put their glamorous lifestyles on hold to wait out the pandemic in homebody duds. The snaps offer a great opportunity to draw inspiration from hitherto unseen racks of comfy attire and also a great example for those of us who feel guilty about setting aside office outfits to take a leap with leisure. From, among others, Winnie Harlow, Izabel Goulart and Elsa Hosk, here’s a roundup of some of the most striking looks posted over the past week.
Winnie Harlow’s ode to Beyoncé
As it is for all of us, this period of staying at home is dragging on for Canadian top model Winnie Harlow. The 25-year old recently spent an entire day of quarantine in her bedroom clad only in her underwear and an oversize T-shirt. But not just any T-shirt… The top model affirmed her status as an ardent fan of Beyoncé.
Casual like Cindy Crawford
Since the beginning of lockdown supermodel and 1990s icon Cindy Crawford has posted plenty of laidback looks, but without resorting to outfits that many believe should not be allowed to leave the house. On the occasion of Earth Day, the celebrity took a little time to commune with nature, no doubt at a location close to her home, wearing delicately ripped jeans with a striped sweater. The underlying principle appears to be: “yes” to comfort, but “no” to homewear!
Sweatpants, sneakers and a baseball cap like Elsa Hosk
Like many of us, the Swedish model has set aside her usual attire to enjoy the comforts of home in comfort. In one of her most recent snaps on Instagram, she can be seen sporting a simple light gray tracksuit, with colorful new Balance sneakers and a black cap. An outfit that is in marked contrast to her very elaborate makeup.
Green like Natalia Vodianova
Stuck at home in lockdown, the Russian model also wanted to celebrate Earth Day in her way by posting this image of a casual look without makeup or manicure, which features a T-shirt bearing the inscription “SOS” with planet Earth as the “O.” To accompany the picture, Natalia Vodianova simply added the message, “Happy Earth Day.”
