Natthanun Prasongchaikul didn’t want to go into her mother’s business, the interior design contracting and furniture manufacturing company Bangkok Dec-Con. After she graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a BA in communication management (international programme), she pursued her dream of becoming a flight attendant. And for a while, Natthanun got to travel for work. But she was forced to leave the job due to political upheavals in Thailand that saw suspensions of flights into the country. That was followed by a stint in the pharmaceutical industry. She then landed a job where she had always tried to avoid: Bangkok Dec-Con. Although she felt out of place at the beginning, she eventually discovered that she had a knack for investor relations. As an assistant to managing director, she’s in charge of executing marketing plans, liaising with investors, and overseeing the outsourced labour cost. And while she admires what her mother has achieved for the company, Natthanun is also not afraid to assert her own vision and her plans to diversify and grow the company. She still hasn’t abandoned her love for travel. In her free time, this 30-year-old loves to pack up and leave Bangkok for an adventure elsewhere in the world.
