Piyavara Teekara Natenoi
Director, Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles / Chief of the Curatorial Department, Grand Palace, Bangkok.
Piyavara “Mai” Teekara Natenoi is director of the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles and chief of the Curatorial Department at the Grand Palace in Bangkok. She started her career as a curator at the museum after finishing her undergraduate studies in 2003. In 2005, she received the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Scholarship to do a summer internship at the Antonio Ratti Textile Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She was also awarded the HRH Queen Sirikit and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Scholarships to study for a Master’s degree in Education in Costume at New York University. On completion, she returned to Bangkok and started her work at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles.
