For those who are enamoured by the warm and sumptuous beauty of the interiors inside British luxury residences, you can now bring a piece of that to your home with the launch of the UK-based furniture house Alexander & James in Thailand.
Founded in 2013 by creative furniture designer Mark (Alexander) Smith and businessman and design enthusiast David (James) Lee, Alexander & James is synonymous with signature sofas and chairs rooted in British heritage, combining exquisite high-end designer style with luxurious comfort.
Working with a team of talented furniture designers and makers, the duo create hand sketching new designs that are both timelessly stylish and right on trend. Their superbly comfortable sofas and chairs are beautifully upholstered in patterns, plains, buttery leathers, rich wools and soft velvets.
Their collection of sofa and decorative items are rich in British heritage, thanks largely to an attention to every single detail. Storied references and study in diverse interior style and cultures result in an intriguing mix of colours, forms and textures that reflect both classic, contemporary and eclectic sensibilities, making their items a perfect centrepiece for every stylish home.

Alexander and James prioritises comfort and elegance, hence their being so particular with materials. Their famed sofa collection is loved for the buttery soft leather of highest quality sourced from Brazil and Europe. Another signature material — colourful velvet — comes from William Morris, without doubt one of the world’s most influential upholstery designers. The structures are made of highest quality para rubber in an environmentally friendly facility to ensure durability and flexibility. Design elements such as colour combination and studding are done by hand, making each and every piece a unique luxury befitting your beloved home.
The first Alexander and James’ flagship store in Bangkok is located Sukhumvit 39.
