This brand-new venue, located in the Warehouse 30 complex, showcases contemporary, urban, and street art from around the world
As of Saturday, July 4th, culture vultures in Bangkok will have an exciting new art space to check out. Aurum Gallery, located in the creative district’s Warehouse 30 complex, is a newly launched project conceived and curated by internationally acclaimed British DJ, musician, actor, and artist Clifford Price (MBE), whom anyone in the know refers to simply as ‘Goldie’ (and aurum, incidentally, is the Latin word for gold).
Inspired by New York’s golden era of graffiti culture in the 1980s, this 528 sq.m space is a celebration of Goldie’s lifetime passion and career as an influential contributor to the art scene, spanning over three decades. And while many of the works on display are those created by Goldie himself, there’s also plenty of pieces from some of the world’s most influential artists in the street art oeuvre, including Vhils (Brazil), Belin (Spain), Saturno (Spain), Ben Eine (UK), Odeith (Portugal), Bio (USA), and Crash (USA).
In addition, alongside these internationally lauded artists you’ll find works by local and regional talent such as P7, Benzilla, Jecks, and Wal Chirachaisakul.
Aurum Gallery is also home to an incredible live workshop space that can showcase these artists in action and provide master classes to aspiring talent. The gallery plans to hold events on a regular basis, allowing art enthusiasts to be completely immersed in the process of creation.
Goldie’s intention is to make Aurum the go-to gallery for exhibiting prominent artists within the urban, contemporary and street art sphere, as well as a platform to elevate up-and-coming artists in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
By presenting the legendary works of established artists alongside the boundary-pushing pieces by fresh faces, Goldie and his business partners hope to bring something new and exciting to Bangkok’s vibrant art scene.
