European modernist paintings will come to life at River City Bangkok’s enchanting multimedia exhibition

FROM MONET TO KANDINSKY will feature some of Europe’s most renowned modernist artworks for the first time in Asia in Bangkok. Mark your calendars now because this is certainly the most expected art event of the year after a successful debut in Berlin 2017.
Get ready to dive into the western art revolutionary period from the 19 and 20 century, when major social and technological upheavals were driven by the industrial revolution.FROM MONET TO KANDINSKY will bring more than 1,500 paintings via state-of-the-art HD projection, graphic animation, and a quality surround sound system. An unparalleled experience for all art lovers to view the works of 16 modernist masters with the support of 20 of the world’s finest museums. Step into the iconic paintings starting from April 26 onwards at RCB Galleria, on the 2nd floor at River City Bangkok.
Back in the 19th century, Claude Monet painted the Impression, Sunrise and that’s really what gave the movement its name. Impressionism has been known as the first modern movement in painting, when artists began to concentrate on the world of imperfections, seeing it in a more realistic way, rejecting the traditional portrayal of idealized forms. More than 50 paintings of Monet have been selected for this exhibition. Together with other forms of art such as surrealism, abstract art, and expressionism, all will serve to unveil untold stories of the modernist era.
When we think of Vincent van Gogh, we think of The Starry Night or Sunflowers in paintings that are tangible, but now we get to view it in the most unconventional way thanks to groundbreaking technology.
FROM MONET TO KANDINSKY promises a mesmerizing experience with works of the most notable artists including Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Henri Rousseau, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Gustav Klimt, Paul Signac, Piet Mondrian, Amedeo Modigliani, Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Juan Gris, Paul Klee, Edvard Munch, Kazimir Malevich, and Wassily Kandinsky.
Highlights of the 26-week exhibition include talks by European art experts and scholars and workshops with the support of the European Union. Just like the masters, you can throw in some paint with brush strokes while sipping on some wine. Of course, dances and musical performances will also be there for entertainment.
