Titled ‘Born of a Dream’, the short film chronicles the life of world-class athlete and IWC brand ambassador Tom Brady.
Titled ‘Born of a Dream: A Boy from San Mateo’, the film follows the captivating milestones in Brady’s life, from his humble beginnings, to his gradual rise to the top of the National Football League.
Superbly paced into a four-minute montage, we see Brady himself featured as his current self, while two young actors play out his life as a schoolboy, and later a teenager. Through sweat-filled practices to thrilling contests, the short film pays homage to Brady’s passion and dedication to his dream — values that also resonate with the core values of the IWC brand.
While football seems at complete opposite ends to the world of haute horlogerie, there are definite parallels between the life of Brady, and IWC’s history. As Franziska Gsell, chief marketing officer at IWC Schaffhausen put it, Tom Brady’s life “is exemplary not just for athletes or entrepreneurs, but it’s a reminder that if we set our minds to it, we all have the strength to achieve what we want. The same powerful message has also been at the very heart of IWC Schaffhausen since F.A. Jones founded our company over 150 years ago.”
