The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), a part of the Ministry of Commerce, has underlined its commitment to organising what is known as Asia’s most stylish, lifestyle-based trade fair, with STYLE Bangkok October 2019. Set to take place at the Bangkok International Trade & Convention Centre, or BITEC Bangna, to call the event large-scale is an understatement. The affair promises over 1,800 booths, and is set to gather 50,000 participants from 70 countries, with the aim of promoting Thailand’s image as the ultimate destination for international lifestyle products.
With total purchase orders estimated to hit 2 million baht, there are high hopes for the fair to help support economic stability, and play a role in increasing the total export value of our nation by no less than 3%. Mind-boggling figures aside, what lies in store at the STYLE Bangkok October 2019? From what brands to expect behind each booth, to what makes this an event to look out for, here’s everything we know about DITP’s latest project.
STYLE Is Part of DITP’s Initiative in Supporting SMEs
According to Banjongjitt Angsusingh, the Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion in the Ministry of Commerce, “DITP plays an important role in supporting the Thai economy through promoting exports and services, and penetrating the international market. It is also tasked with supporting new SMEs, and carrying out the department’s policies in order to maintain the present market, revive the old, and expand into new ones.”
Knowing this, the logic behind STYLE isn’t difficult to understand. Back when the trade fair was first launched in 2017, we saw three of Thailand’s key annual trade fairs combine into something rather different — a showcase of modern lifestyle products, with a big emphasis on lifestyle. Fast-forward to today, and these lifestyle products have become one of our key exports, making STYLE more relevant than ever. Ringing in 2019, the fair is set to bring together anything and everything from fashion, furniture, gifts and home decor to even representatives of the hotel industry, restaurants, and galleries — giving everyone a place to showcase their services to a much wider audience.
There Will be a Significant Number of Noteworthy Brands
Don’t let the size of the fair fool you — here, quantity is does not by any means sacrifice quality. The STYLE Bangkok October 2019 fair is set to offer a pretty impressive selection of reknowned names, including the likes of home decor brand Korakot by Korakot Aromdee, famed Thai fashion label Pichita by Pichita Boonyaratapan, as well as a selection of bags, stationary, and eco-friendly designs under Anek Kulthaveesap’s Labrador label.
There’s Something for Everyone
While the key highlights of the trade fair range from modern designs to exciting eco-friendly products, there will also be specific fashion and lifestyle products, along with niche items that are especially tailored towards specific target groups. For instance, visitors can expect to find items designed for elders, mothers, children, and even pets — every lifestyle is included, and there’s something for everyone.
STYLE Bangkok October 2019 is set to take place from October 17-21, at the Bangkok International Trade & Convention Centre. To find out more, visit stylebangkokfair.com.
