Last month, on Tuesday January 17, 2020, the Joseph Conrad Terrace at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was filled with a string of elite guests and Thailand’s top celebrities. Like them, we were there to attend the Hello! X BMW Chef’s Table, an exclusive event hosted by our sister magazine Hello! Thailand, in collaboration with BMW Thailand. The event offered distinguished guests the rare opportunity to experience the German brand’s latest legendary masterpiece — THE 7, considered another pinnacle embodying the cutting-edge advancements and luxury of the BMW 7 Series. From what went down, to who was in attendance, here’s our Prestige Recap of the affair.
THE 7: What’s the Hype?
As part of the new BMW Series 7, the brand presented two models at the event — the 745Le xDrive M Sport, and the 730Ld sDrive M Sport. While both stand out for sleek and elegant design styles, along with top-notch tech and optimum comfort, the 745Le xDrive M Sport stood out through its use of hybrid technology.
Exciting elements of the new releases include developments such as the Active Air Flap Control, as well as use of Adaptive LED in the hybrid model, and BMW Laserlight in the 745Le. Not only that, but seating-wise, BMW enthusiasts will revel in an extended boot space, generous legroom, as well as an impressive recline from the passenger seat. Aesthetic-wise, the striking chrome accents and dark gloss-wood trim offer a rather interesting new twist to the brand’s previous design styling approach.
The Event: What took Place?
To celebrate the unveil, and offer a truly unparalleled opportunity to #ExperienceThe7, BMW also hosted a series of special mini exhibitions. One offered a fascinating showcase of the history of BMW, paying homage to iconic models of the past. Another, more interactive one, highlighted the exquisite process of producing the special Nappa Leather that is found on the seating of the models. Guests also enjoyed a special wine tasting, inspired by the brand and the newly presented cars.
Asides from getting up close and personal with the new models, the key highlight of the event was undoubtedly the sit-down Chef’s Table dinner experience, especially curated by chef Arnaud Dunand-Sauthier, from two Michelin-starred Le Normandie. The fine-dining journey was comprised of six dishes, ranging from a refreshing appetizer of caviar and smoked jelly, to main courses that included a choice of either boston lobster with bordeaise sauce, or a succulent wagyu beef tenderloin.
Who Was There?
The event was warmly attended by close friends of Prestige and Hello! Magazine alike, who gathered to experience firsthand the BMW’s The 7. Spotted at the event were familiar faces including Kornkanok Yongsakul, Aliza Phantusak, Akarat Vannarat, and Dr. Ausanee Mahagitsiri. Stroll through the gallery below to see more of who was there!
