The much-anticipated Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost recently made its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore at an intimate VIP showcase, demonstrating just how swanky, sleek and subversive this new bespoke, all-black edition of the minimalist Ghost can be.
The purest Black Badge car design in the marque’s history, the model represents the dark side of Rolls-Royce’s Post Opulent aesthetics, which is targeted at the new generation of stylish, audacious and non-conformist achievers. These individuals don’t just enjoy an ultra-luxurious drive, they also desire a Rolls-Royce that is agile, discreet, highly connected and free of any superfluous design.
The model flaunts interiors lined with striking Mandarin Leather and Technical Carbon veneer. Discreetly featured within the cabin is also the ultimate symbol of automotive desirability – the Infinity lemniscate symbol representing this new, noir expression of Rolls-Royce. The car’s 6.75-litre V12 engine now delivers increased power and torque of 600PS and 900NM respectively, while the drivetrain and chassis have been re-engineered for more responsive performance.
Irene Nikkein, Asia Pacific regional director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, says, “Black Badge is our response to a new segment of super-luxury customers whose desire for luxury is bold and non-conformist. Throughout Asia we are witnessing highly successful entrepreneurs who are younger and more diverse than ever before. They are innovators, trailblazers, ‘rule-breakers’ — and above all — those who dare. Black Badge is their code of luxury.”
Rolls-Royce had debuted the Black Badge with Wraith and Ghost in 2016, followed by Dawn in 2017, then Cullinan in 2019 for a new segment of clients wanting to drive themselves. This new Black Badge Ghost, which completes the family, is the purest and most technologically advanced Black Badge motor car yet.
Explaining the appeal of the Black Badge Ghost, Renee Chua, managing director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Singapore, says, “Black Badge is for the fearless. It has proven to be a success because our customers wanted something bolder, edgier and with more intensity. When new Ghost was launched, we saw strong appreciation for Rolls-Royce’s most technologically advanced motor car. Now, with this new Black Badge version, the alter-ego of Ghost, is at its most dynamic and potent, yet thoroughly Rolls-Royce.”
