The Michael Kors Spring 2019 runway show in New York’s Fashion Week was a breath of fresh spring air. Think bright colours, prints, more colour. The show was an ode to the modern globe-trotter, or as Michael Kors himself described it, a global getaway.

“I find travel to be the ultimate inspiration and this collection takes a little bit from all of my favorite destinations around the world,” said the designer. The runway show reflected his vision from the choice of venue — Pier 17, the city’s historic and newly revitalised Seaport District, to incorporating artwork by Christina Zimpel, an artist formerly the Art Director for Australian Vogue and American Vogue.

The collection played heavily on florals, plaids, stripes, polka dots and all around tropical vibes. Some looks were sent down the runway as matching combinations (love!), or dresses with ruffles, swimwear, shirtdresses , topped with floopy hats and more. To complement the vibe of the show, models walked to tunes like ‘Good Vibrations’ by The Beach Boys and Dalida’s ‘Itsi Bitsi Petit Bikini’.

Narrowing down a very universal collection, we’ve picked our favourite looks for Spring 2019:
