Tudor, a sister company to Rolex, has never been big on celebrity ambassadors. That was until yesterday, when the watchmaker announced star footballer David Beckham as its global brand ambassador. Beckham will be a big part of Tudor’s Born to Dare campaign, first launched at this year’s Baselworld.
In the new campaign images, Beckham is sporting the new Tudor Black Bay Steel and Gold. The model is among the new Black Bay styles that Tudor launching this year: a brand new chronography in the Black Bay Chronograph, the Black Bay 41 and the Black Bay Steel. Previous to the Beckham news, Black Bay Chronograph became a topic of interest for its movement, which was created in collaboration with Breitling.
Reportedly, prior to his tie to Tudor, Beckham has already owned a few Rolex pieces. “I was attracted to Tudor by the attention to detail I could see in their watches,” the new ambassador said in a statement. “I then learned about the history of the brand: one of adventure, pioneer diving and daring expeditions. I was instantly hooked.”
