Bursting with energy and joie de vivre, the latest Chanel 19 Bag campaign was co-directed by Roman and Sofia Coppola.
As part of the Chanel 19 Bag campaign, Chanel has launched a series of films, co-directed by Roman and Sofia Coppola — the mastermind behind works including Marie Antoinette and Lost in Translation. Featuring a line-up of young, stunning and incredibly talented stars, the videos are all about a buzzing energy and joie de vivre, taking a lighthearted turn that sets a new tone for the Maison’s revamped Chanel 19 bag.
As an ode to Chanel’s versatility, the bag appears in black leather for Margaret Qualley, while Top Russell sports the Chanel 19 in multicoloured tweed, and Marine Vacth flaunts a rendition swathed in a houndstooth motif. The design’s roots include a large diamond quilting, oversized CC clasp, and a long strap in metal, interlaced with leather and a curb chain handle.
Such a play on bright, vibrant hues and youthful buoyancy is not new for Chanel. While the House has always been associated with timeless classics, Chanel has always outdone its peers through its approach to blending tradition with modernity. As such, it comes as little surprise that the Chanel 19 campaign videos would evoke such warmth, joviality, and playful energy — underlined, of course, by an ode to freedom.
