Dior’s Beachwear 2021 Men’s Capsule
Inspired by the dialogue with American artist Kenny Scharf during a discussion for their Fall 2021 collaboration, the Dior beachwear 2021 men’s capsule collection is truly an ode to summer festivities. Combining elements of vintage with sportswear, fashion and casual wear, Kim Jones’ capsule wardrobe echoes the retro sentiments of fashion from the 1960s and 1970s.
Dior’s beachwear 2021 men’s capsule undoubtedly reflects the American artists’ passion and character, featuring aquatic-inspired ensembles in pop colours—airy silk shirts, swimming trunks and bandanas with prints that allude to Scharf’s iconic Viva Mare Viva Mar painting.
Then there are the retro staples of polo shirts and t-shirts with bathrobes. Not the plain, boring ones, of course. Summer and beaches call for Dior oblique motifs and tone-on-tone prints, along with a play on materials and transparency. Even the more modern casual wear like tracksuits in blue and white are reimagined with a rubber Dior logo.
Though free-spirited and fun, the collection remains refined. Iconic leather pieces including the saddle clutch and boat bags with the maison’s oblique jacquard make for a great beach accessories, especially when paired with the Dior paradise espadrilles. Swap that with some the Atlas sandals, or sling the steel bottle with leather and nylon crossbody-style, and summer beach fun is now just within reach.
