Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from the Rainbow Room in New York City and the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, respectively, the 78th Golden Globes Award 2021 breaks away from the tradition. With many of the nominees attending virtually, the red carpet award-night fashion gets traded for at-home glamour.
Every year, the Golden Globes is one of the most anticipated events to start off the year’s awards season. Traditionally held around early-January, it’s a glitzy affair that celebrates the art of cinema and television, plus a chance to take in the magic of the red carpet. But just like many other things, traditional are being replaced with new normal—and in this case, the home becoming the new red carpet. While some attended in person on the red carpet, many of the nominees were dressed up for their at-home appearance—and most dazzlingly so. Here are some of the best red carpet and at-home looks from the 78th Golden Globes Award ceremony.
Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) in Dior
