Avid supporters of Prapakas will know that his shows typically take either one of two routes — beautiful, everyday-wear pieces, or striking, out-of-the-box, and artful spectaculars that completely blow you away. The Sor-Kor-Bor Warship by Prapakas show, held in collaboration with KOI Fashion Gala as its sixth edition, falls into the latter category.
Bringing back the best of the designer’s previous dystopian-inspired collections, the show was in typical Prapakas fashion — think dark smoke, apocalyptic visions, and an uninhibited sense of expression. As always, cultural and historical references reign supreme, presented through a mesmerising flurry of contrasting textures and hues for an experience unlike any other.
Completely unconventional, Prapakas reminds us that fashion can be fun, giving audiences a taste of anything and everything from billowing, bright yellow silhouettes to a piece resembling exposed muscles and ribs.
In one look, gigantic horns protrude from the model’s chest, while a headpiece of massive ears hang hover gracefully, almost reminiscent of a fallen angel’s wings. Taking a wholly different approach to femininity, Prapakas uses his creative genius to bring together varying elements of art and craftsmanship for an otherworldly spectacle.
