Rimowa sure knows how to whet wanderlust. Its newly-launched seasonal colours for the Essential polycarbonate luggage range make you dream of an adventure out on the desert.
The German luxury luggage manufacturer is rolling out two limited-edition hues derived from the arid climes of the Mojave Desert. The driest, and smallest, of the deserts in America, is distinguished by its native Joshua trees, whose shape reminded people the biblical figure who reached his hands up to the sky in prayer. Its haunting landscapes and breathtaking natural beauty has served as backdrop of many Hollywood movies spanning Star Wars (1977), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) and First Man (2018), cementing its place in pop culture.
Evoking the Mojave Desert’s landscape and gorgeous sunsets cast against awe-inspiring pastel skies sunsets, the new Desert Rose colour is a dusty hue of pink, while echoing the green of the succulents dotting across the desert, is the other new colour named Cactus. The two come in the Cabin, Check-In L and Trunk Plus sizes of the new Rimowa Essential offering.
To dress up your new suitcase, there is also a limited edition Desert Sticker Set of five additions of fun 1970s-style designs coloured in Desert Rose and Cactus.
On top of that, Rimowa is releasing a new collection of cases for iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max made to match the new palette. This marks the first time the seasonal colours are applied to the grooved cases crafted from premium polycarbonate, the signature material for the Rimowa Essential collection. Slim and lightweight, the iPhone cases also include a shockproof thermoplastic polyurethane (a rubber-like class of polyurethane plastics with properties such as elasticity and resistance to oil, grease and abrasion) bumper that provides good grip, durability and comfort as it protects your phone on the go.
