The Escale à Venise collection is presented by Patrice Leguéreau, director of the Maison’s jewellery creation studio. The high jewellery masterpieces are imbued with a contemporary interpretation of Gabrielle Chanel’s discovery of the Floating City and features 70 magnificent pieces. Escale à Venise showcases the emblems of Chanel that are seen through the prism of La Sérénissime, the Republic of Venice, today and are of course an ode to Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite destinations. The exceptional and precious stones have a sculptural aspect that relay a great sense of power. Take a look at some of our favourite pieces from the collection.
La Sérénissime
The Eblouissante set of jewellery is composed of white and pink geometric designs and celebrates the architectural wealth of Venice. In it you can see a distinct interpretation of the facades of Italian palaces and the polychromatic marble floors of the churches.
Gran Canale
This chapter sees four sets that reflect the nautical world, from mooring poles to lagoons and more, particularly through its stunning use of lapis lazuli and diamonds. There are four sets, Volute Vénitienne, Volute Marine, Volute Croisière and Ruban Canotier. Here we focus on Volute Croisière.
Isole della Laguna
The lagoon islands inspire three sets specifically dedicated to Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite flower, the camelia, and of course are a beautiful praise of the Métiers d’art.
Spirito di Venezia
The spirit of Venice is expressed through the personality of the lion that guards and reigns over the city. After the first high jewellery collection that was launched in 2013 that was an ode to Gabrielle Chanel’s astrological sign, the feline now appears in five distinguished sets. The sky where the winged lion appears on the façade of Saint Mark’s Basilica, is translated by Chanel onto the Constellation Astrale set. Here are our favourite pieces from Constellation Astrale and Lion Secret.
