From vintages, to modern and contemporary designs, Christie’s ‘The Titanium and Ruby Collection’ presents some of the world’s rarest timepieces.
For its upcoming July and Autumn auctions, Christie’s Hong Kong is set to present ‘The Titanium and Ruby Collection’ — arguably the most valuable single-owner collection of Patek Philippe timepieces available in the whole Asian region.

Consisting of models form the vintage, modern, and contemporary era, the landmark collection has been scrupulously added upon over a span of two decades, and offers some of the world’s most highly-coveted timepieces — at a total low estimate of roughly US$12 million.

Among the incredible options in store, spectators can look forward to the July sale’s headliner — A Unique and Highly Important Titanium Automatic Minute Repeating Annual Calendar Wristwatch, Ref. 5033, manufactured in 2003 and offered at US$1,000,000 – US$3,000,000.

Another highlight is A Highly Attractive and Possible Unique 18K Gold Automatic Perpetual Calendar Wristwatch with Moon Phases and Ruby-Set Numeral, Ref. 3448/8, manufactured in 1965, and offered at US$500,000 – US$800,000.

According to Alexandre Bigler, vice president and head of watches at Christie’s Asia Pacific, the Titanium and Ruby Collection is a legendary offering, which will no doubt “mark a monumental moment in auction history and will convene the world’s greatest collectors and connoisseurs.” Has your interest been piqued? Here are the key reasons to have this particular collection on your radar this upcoming auction season.
They are Extremely Rare

With the Titanium and Ruby Collection, avid collectors are given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own 16 vintage and modern minute repeaters. Expect the likes of the spectacular vintage reference 2524/1J, up to the one-of-a-kind and unique titanium example of a modern reference 5033 — the best part, all these rarities are available together, in a single auction.
The Craftsmanship that Goes into Each Timepiece is Truly Exceptional

Here’s why collectors can’t help but love Patek Philippe — when it comes to haute horology, a Patek Philippe minute repeater is a true work of art, known for its chiming complications which epitomise the pinnacle of watchmaking craftsmanship.

A true horological wonder, every part of the watch is meticulously adjusted, and exquisitely assembled to achieve the precise tempo, pitch, duration and volume of the chime — resulting in a series of chimes that resound in perfect unison, like a tiny orchestra on your wrist.
The Variety will Surprise You

Don’t let the single-owner element fool you — the present owner of this remarkable collection has truly developed a strong appetite for some of the world’s most sought-after models from teh vintage era.

Expect a range that goes from chronographs — think the reference 130J or 1579J — to perpetual calendar chronographs like the legendary 1518J or 2499J, building up to possibly the world’s only PP3448/8J with ruby indexes in existence.
