Zenith has released its most flamboyantly feminine watch so far — the Defy 21 Pink Edition, in support of breast cancer awareness.
Never one to avoid going big and bold, Zenith is the first to unveil a pink-treated movement, created in association with Pink Ribbon Switzerland. Committing to a cause that affects countless women worldwide, the brand’s latest chronograph comes in an unabashed hue representing hope.
Functionality-wise, don’t let all the pink fool you — this is definitely a timepiece to be reckoned with. The Defy 21 comes fitted with Zenith’s ultra-fast 1/100th of a second chronograph movement, packaged in an edgy design that is further accentuated by a rather shocking pink PVD. If you’re looking to make a daring statement this summer, this one’s definitely for you.
The watch itself features a rose-gold case, with sharp facets that result in a rather different kind of brilliance — achieved through 288 white diamonds of varying sizes, delicately set into the case. A rose-gold bezel adds another layer of sparkle, complemented by 44 scintillating, baguette-cut pink sapphire stones. The dial reflects the watch’s dashing facade, coming in the form of an open black and gold structure that reveals the watch’s highlight — an audacious, metallic pink-treated movement, which spans all the way from the dial side, right through to the star-shaped oscillating rotor at the back.
Not only does Zenith stand in solidarity with women around the world battling breast cancer, but a portion of the proceeds from the Defy 21 Pink Edition will go directly towards supporting Pink Ribbon Switzerland. The watchmaker will also participate in the 10th Anniversary Pink Ribbon Switzerland Music Gala as a key auction partner, lending its support to help raise funds with a unique version of the watch — the Defy 21 ‘Pink Ribbon’ edition. All funds received from the auction sale will help to finance the Vision I project of The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research.
