Drake’s champagne brand has released a pair of 2008 vintage bottles for the holiday season that retail for up to $550 USD.
Earlier this year, the Canadian hip hop star launched Mod Sélection Champagne with wine and spirits producer Brent Hocking, who also oversees the rapper’s whiskey line Virginia Black.
The newest releases include Mod Sélection Réserve Vintage 2008, a bubbly that retails for $480 USD, and Mod Sélection Réserve Rosé Vintage 2008 which retails for $550.
Tasting notes for Réserve Vintage 2008 include orange peel, dried apricot and pineapple on the palate, before moving on to brioche, nutmeg and clove.
The rosé is characterized as a deep-salmon hue, with notes of red fruit — strawberry, blood orange and plum on the palate, before moving to honey, ginger and sweet spice.
The luxury bubbly is packaged in handcrafted, embossed, metallic bottles.
Drake is one in a long string of celebrities to enter the booze biz. Ryan Reynolds is part owner in Aviation Gin, while Sarah Jessica Parker and Pink recently joined Drew Barrymore and John Legend in launching their own wine brands.
