Lin Hong-Yu

Hailed as the “Taiwanese Edison”, Lin owns several patents. He is also a philanthropist, and donates to the Yilan County Government every year through his Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation. Lin seeks to give away 70 percent of his income to charitable causes — his motto is “leave no fortune to children”. He is one of Forbes’ “Heroes of Philanthropy”.
