The holder of a Business degree from the University of Michigan goes on: “I was seeking a new business opportunity, so I decided to return from Singapore and open Island Creamery (an ice cream parlour chain) here in 2011.
“As time went by, I heard the calling to join the family business grow louder, so I decided to join Dharmawan Group. My father is my mentor. He taught me that sincerity and humility go a long way in building fruitful business relationships. But it wasn’t easy to bridge the generation gap, especially when I said I wanted to bring the business to the younger market. I also had to gain the trust of the older staff.”
