Forget your partner, best friend, even your mother on that annual mother-daughter/son vacation. Tumi‘s the perfect travel buddy. We kid. But we aren’t exaggerating when we say that the newly launched Tumi Fall 2019 collection has some amazing bags you should get your hands on. With this collection, designs celebrate the sense of enlightenment association with travel and the inspirations that come with it.

The Tumi Fall 2019 collection was officially unveiled in Kuala Lumpur just last week, over dinner and drinks at the newly-opened Blackbyrd on the 50th floor of the Naza Tower. Tumi’s regional General manager Tan Yin Yin took guests through the collection showcase where we picked out our favourites. So if you’ve got a big trip to look forward to soon, you might consider these investment pieces:

Tumi calls this one the “pinnacle of travel gear”. A new colour is revealed with the latest range; Banyon Leaf. Throw a fancy colour over an embossed diamond pattern on the outside and lightweight lining on the inside, and you’ve got a wardrobe on wheels within a framecase design, complete with snap closures and die-cast corner caps for additional protection.

Encompassing backpacks, briefs, and duffels, the Alpha Bravo range is a best seller for Tumi. These designs have military-inspired features and are made to last with Tumi’s signature ballistic nylon. What’s new right now includes the Nathan Backpack with expansion straps, along with the Barksdale Crossbody with a large front zip pocket, or the more compact Stewart Crossbody. New prints like Camo, Luminous Blue and Brushed Blue are also introduced.

If you prefer the outdoors to the first class airport lounges, Tahoe is perfect for you. These street-inspired designs sport a sleek material for a modern look, but not without the functionality of a customisable zipper puller, key leash, organisational pockets and an updated rain cover design. This season, go hands-free with the expandable Bozeman Sling with a cool, utilitarian fold-over design, speed clip closure and front zip pocket.

Everybody loves a tote, and really, you can never have too many. These ones are lightweight, simple, and come in two sizes. They’ve got customisable options too; Tumi’s Add-a-Bag, a hanging interior pocket with a media pocket, and the key leash. New shades to shop for include the Ivory Collage Floral, Raspberry, and our personal favourite; Collage Floral. Some totes will be available in Saffiano Leather too.

The launch of the Voyageur collection was a big one for Tumi, made up of versatile and lightweight nylon backpacks, bags, and accessories. New styles for fall include the Harper and Hartford backpacks with an exterior laptop compartment, or the tiny Serra Mini Backpack. Best of all is the personalisation details like straps that you can add on to these designs. To look the part of a boss lady, get your hands on the Bailey Business Tote and Chandler Brief in Voyageur Leather.
