It’s been an incredible year for the bar scene in Singapore, with our tiny capital state once again showing its mighty force in the list for Asia’s 50 Best Bars and World’s 50 Best Bars respectively. There has also been fantastic new bar openings with innovative tipple menus, month after month. We can’t wait to see what’s in store next year; in the meantime, we’re raising our glasses to 2019. Craft beers will continue to make a splash in 2020 — this time in City Hall’s Raffles City. Tap Craft Beer Bar has opened in the mall, bringing with it its selection of 20 rotating international craft beers on draft as well as an extensive menu of mains, cheese platters, bar bites, and charcuterie.
This youngest addition to COMO Dempsey serves up the culinary group’s best food, tapas style. Aperitif bar COMO Club’s food menu offers the best of Candlenut, The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar, and Ippon Tempura in bite-sized servings. Think Snake River Kurobuta Pork Neck Satay from its one-Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant, and Sea Urchin with Kaviari Kristal Caviar from the Singapore outpost of Osaka’s oldest premium tempura restaurant. Washed them all down with delicious cocktails and exceptional wines.
The all new The Oyster Bank hits all the right spots with its still-trending, luxe tropical interiors, and selections of oysters served up raw, grilled, fried, and in shooters with sauces ranging from ginger lime relish to honeyed green apple. Still feeling peckish? Scarf down small plates, cheese platters, or better yet, donburi. The drinks menu include sake, champagne, and cocktails.
Da Paolo’s newest F&B concept is well and thriving at. The restaurant and cocktail bar is located in a sprawling 5,000sqft space, which also includes a retail arm. Swing by for a taste of Italy’s finest at its live pasta and pizza stations, and complement your meal with cold cuts, house-made gelatos, and vermouth-infused tipples.
Jigger & Pony has a new concept — Live Twice, an intimate cocktail bar inspired by mid-century Japan. The drinks menu here is pared down to 14, flavour forward tipples, which includes an Almond Mimosa that blends toasty almond milk and marzipan with Prosecco. And if you’re curious about the name of the bar, it refers to people who come alive in the night with their most authentic selves — a cocktail in hand, of course.
