The mark of a truly exceptional brand lies in its ability to not only withstand the test of time, but also proudly uphold the tradition of presenting the finest of its produce year after year. Australia’s most revered winemaker, Penfolds certainly fall in to this category as it celebrates its 175th anniversary with a fine selection of 15 outstanding wines spanning five vintages (2015 till 2019) and 12 regions.
Highly anticipated among wine connoisseurs, this new collection includes some of the brightest stars of the Penfolds’ universe. Among the array of 11 impeccable red wines are the 2017 Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz that showcases its impressive 60th vintage, as well as the iconic 2016 St Henri Shiraz and 2017 Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz — both truly sublime in flavour.
The whites are beautifully represented, too, in the form of the 2019 Bin 51 Eden Valley Riesling that presents its 20th vintage; the 2018 Reserve Bin A Adelaide Hills Chardonnay in its 25th vintage; and the classic 2017 Yattarna Chardonnay.
The highlight of the Penfolds 2019 collection, however, is undoubtedly the 2015 Grange, the latest varietal of the house’s flagship wine. The most expensive bottle in the series, by far, it nevertheless lives up to its powerful reputation, featuring predominantly Barossa fruit, with a little bit of Mclaren Vale and Clare Valley material.
The Penfolds Collection 2019 will be available for purchase in Malaysia at select fine wine stores in September. Interested buyers may also sample the wines at a wine-pairing dinner on 15 November 2019. Discover the rest of the collection at www.penfolds.com
